One of the pieces of information supplied by the JSE for each listed company after each trading day. There are no indicators which utilise this piece of information, but it can be useful to distinguish between days where a single large book-over deal dominates trade and days where trade is made up of thousands of smaller deals. Obviously, it is interesting to consider the volume traded each day and to compare it with previous trading days. The number of deals will give an indication of whether the trade was dominated by a few large institutional investors or by a myriad of small private investors.
