A day with a much wider range of trade than usual which occurs at the top or bottom of a cycle. When a key reversal day occurs at the top of a cycle, prices open with new highs and then close below the previous day's closing price. The opposite is true when a key reversal day occurs at the bottom of a cycle. The wide range of trade indicates the uncertainty among investors about the future direction. Once this uncertainty is resolved, the new upward trend or downward trend commences.
