The Winning Shares List (WSL) is a list of JSE-listed companies which, in the opinion of the staff at PDSnet, have a good chance of going up and giving the investors a solid capital gain. Historically, about 70% of the shares added to the list go up - but of course, that means that 30% go down. In compiling this list we assume that investors will maintain a strict stop-loss strategy. Your absolute rule should be that you never lose more than 15% on any share market investment - EVER. And that should include your dealing costs (usually about 3%). The logic is that if you can make 100%, 200%, 300% or more on your winners and you cut your losers at 15% or less - then you have to be successful in the share market.
