An approach to investment or a set of rules for investment which has a specific objective. For example, a portfolio can be high risk or low risk in its orientation, or it can favour commodities or financial shares. Exchange Traded Funds and unit trusts usually have a specific market strategy which they are following. Sometimes that is very focused like European shares above a certain size and sometimes it is quite generalised and broad. The investor must select the market strategy which suits their risk profile and objectives.
