An organisation established and funded by the government that provides funds to businesses which are furthering government's objectives. There are many such organisations. For example: (1) the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provides funds for various businesses in sectors which it is trying to promote (2) the Land Bank provides funds for the establishment and management of farms to allow for the purchase of equipment, land and working capital (3) The Samm Enterprise Finance Agency (SEFA) provides funds to small businesses, (4) the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) provides funds to support the government's broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) goals (5) the Industrial Devlopment Corporation (IDC) offers funds to start-up businesses and for business expansion.
