An economics term which refers to manufactured goods which will be used in the futher manufacture of other goods. Thus producer goods ultimately become part of the final finished product which is retailed. The demand for producer goods is thus derived from the demand for the finished product. An example of a producer good is the cloth which is used to make clothing. The cloth is itself manufactured, and yet it will become a part of the clothing, the finished product which is sold to consumers.
