An account with a bank where the funds on deposit can be withdrawn immediately without notice. Call accounts typically attract a lower rate of interest than funds which require a notice period. This rate is known as the "at-call" rate of interest and it varies in line with other interest rates. because of the lower interest rates, companies and individuals try to obtain a better rate of interest unless they have an imminent need for the funds.
