Definition

This heading includes a wide variety of lines that can be added to a chart to make it more predictable. For example, a trendline can be added connecting a series of rising tops or falling bottoms to give an indication of a breakout. Study lines include Gann Fans, Fibonacci time zones and retracements, quadrant lines, Tirone levels and Raff regressions. They can be added to line charts or indicators to assist with technical analysis.
