An American trader of securities who developed a complex system of charts using astrology, geometry and archaic maths. He died in 1955, but left a substantial following who still use his methods today. Gann produced a newsletter, wrote books and held very expensive seminars on trading. He believed in a 60-year cycle divided into three 20-year cycles and a 90-year cycle. He is supposed to have predicted the 1929 crash trend just over month before it happened. He developed Gann Fans which are incorporated into most technical analysis programs.
