This refers to a market which is free from interference or control by government. In such markets prices are determined by the interaction of supply and demand. Transactions are completely voluntary. The share market is a good example of a completely free market. Government intervention in markets always results in a cost and reduced efficiency. It also interferes with the price mechanism as a method of communication between buyers and sellers.
