The is a policy established in terms of the Carbon Tax Act (15 of 2019) in terms of which taxpaters who are subject to carbon tax may make use of certain allowances to reduce the tax which they have to pay. The Carbon Offset Regulations aim to encourage people and businesses to adopt strategies such as installing renewable energy which will reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These efficiencies are in electricity use and the installation of renewable energy generation.
