Definition

The bulletin is published by the Reserve Bank every quarter and in available in PDF format free of charge. The bulletin covers a very wide range of information and comment on the progress of the economy over the quarter. Perhaps the best approach to this voluminous document for the private investor is to try to read the introduction, which is usually just a few pages long, through carefully. This gives a very comprehensive analysis of the global economy and its impact on the local economy. The only disadvantage it has is that it goes out of date fairly quickly, but it will give you a good understanding of the main driving forces in the economy. The introduction is followed by further, more detailed analysis with dozens of tables and charts showing what happened in every sector of the economy.
