Definition

<p style="text-align: justify;">In <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">candlestick</span> <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">chart</span>ing, the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">body</span> of the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">candle</span> is drawn between the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">opening price</span> and the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">closing price</span> and is coloured either green (when the close is above the open) or red (where the close is below the open). Above and below the body are drawn "tails" which extend on the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">upside</span> to the highest <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">price</span> reached during the day and on the <span class="glossary" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted black; cursor: pointer;">downside</span> to the lowest price reached during the day. </p>
