This is an order handed down by a court in terms of which an amount may be deducted from an employee's income for the repayment of a creditor. Thousands of salary-earners have EAOs against their salaries meaning that the employer must deduct a certain amount and pay it across to the employee's creditor. This is especially true of government employees. An EAO is also known as a "garnishee order".
