The area which a property company has available for rent. Real estate investment trusts (REIT) and property companies typically quote this statistic with the interim results and final results. It shows how much space they have to generate rental income from. REITs usually sell non-core properties and buy other properties during each financial period which causes their GLA to change. GLA is a key statistic when considering investing in a property company.
